Estimating Manager - Dallas

The primary function of the Estimating Manager is to provide full-service estimating management for Service proposals and Production projects. Projects will be varied and span multiple types of roofing specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Average Percent of Time

50% • Lead, Manage and Hold team members Accountable for accurate and on-time proposals to Clients.
35% • Reviewing estimates, scopes and final proposals for accuracy.
15% • Other tasks and reports, as needed, to support the overall success of the Company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and manage others in preparation of client proposals by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents to finalize best pricing.
• Review and utilize historical data from previous P.O.s, subcontracts, productivity and other reports as needed to assess unit and labor calculations.
• Identify labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents. .
• Review proposals and specifications to determine scope of work and estimates for accuracy
• Manage updating software (Dataforma and Sage) with building location, project location, vendor contact information, as well as status of proposal request.
• Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
• Manage and maintain working documents and cost database on regular basis to support estimate figures.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Contribute to team effort and work with other departments
• Provide technical support and guidance to personnel as required.

• Analyze proposals and allocate competitive pricing.
• Deliver proposals and proposal packages on or ahead of schedule to meet deadlines.
• Deliver proposals and packages in a timely manner to sales associates and/or clients.
• Maintain communication regarding deadlines and any obstacles in the way of obtaining the requested proposal.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects and reports as well as deadlines.
• Experience Managing a team is necessary.
• Experience in the construction industry
• 3-5 years minimum experience in roofing systems
• Estimating process and managing the estimating process a plus
• Collaborative, adaptable, and positive attitude
• Strong knowledge of all Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School
• 4-7 years
